Should you have a logo professionally designed?

I hear this all the time. Why should I pay you when I can have my nephew do it, or it’s just a logo I don’t want to pay that much for that.

The fact of the matter is when starting a new business or trying to reinvest in an existing company the logo is the most important thing to spend money on. You want to make sure you have something that people will remember and that can be used in different media. It needs to be able to be produced in black and white and color. A great logo is something that will stick in a clients brain weather there is text to go along with it or not. Having just anyone design a logo for you is like having me do your dental work. I would not recommend that! A Designer has been through schooling and should have a decent portfolio of work they have done that shows the skills to design a great logo. You want a design that is a reflection of you or your company, something that you will be proud of and conveys what you need it to convey.
